The Red Menace is a souped-up muff that is a mix of a Triangle and a Ram's Head with a little Russian grit.
With lots of gain, excellent string clarity, and an added mids control, the Red Menace yields sweet, growling fuzz.
The added mids control goes from a really scooped tone all the way up to flat mids.
Having the mids about 10 o'clock will give you a typical muff scooped tone. Turning it up from there adds mids that helps in a live situation and also adds body to the tone.
"It's just so gritty and fat, but I can still hear my original tone come through..."
