Many versions of the original 1971 Big Muff exist due to the
variations of component values. I have compared many different versions and feel this slightly modified and updated version has a great all-around Triangle sound.
"Fantastic tone, lots of range in the controls, pretty much everything you'd want a muff to be."

in 1973 the Ram's Head is mostly associated with
David
Gilmour's sound on Pink Floyd's The Wall. This has a
more open tone and
more fuzz than the Triangle. This is a slightly modified and updated
version of the Ram's Head Muff.
"I've owned many pedals and I think this might be the best. Every
note blooms and sounds great. Chords sound great and massive."

The Civil War, also used by Gilmour, was produced around 1991 under the Sovtek name in Russia. The CWM is almost the same as the rare Red Army but has a bit more low end and is great for full, thick leads.
This is a slightly modified and updated version of the Civil War.
"It sounds godly! A really wide tone knob range from super woolly fuzz all the way to radio static Jesus and Mary Chain fuzz and in between!" Nick

Made from 1994-1998 in the Sovtek facility, the Green Russian is similar to the Red Army but has a bit less low end and more of a grittier fuzz.
This is a slightly modified and updated version of the Green Russian Muff.
"To my surprise, at lower gain settings, it could pull out some of the thickest overdrive tones I’ve ever heard, and the balance throughout the tone knob is simply brilliant."

RAM'S HEAD™ (Violet Version)
Released in 1975, the "Violet" Ram's Head, painted with violet ink, had a more compressed tone than the previous Ram's Head. This is a slightly modified and updated version of the Violet Ram's Head.
"This pedal sounds Glorious!
Vintage Muff tones abound here! Without any doubt, the best vintage
Ram's Head clone I've ever tested."

Released in 1977, the Op-Amp Muff is the one used on the Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream album. Instead of transistors, like previous Muffs, this uses two IC chips. This is a slightly modified and updated version of the Op-Amp Muff.
"It sounds amazing. It has been just jaw-dropping great. It’s “doom” in a box and so much more!"
